The Grinding stones are composed of the grains that grind the workpieces,
and the bonds that hold the grains.
The grinding examples below occur by selecting the proper or improper grinding stones.
Normal grinding
The grains penetrate into the workpieces, and grind with chips.
While building up chips, the bond wears moderately,
and sharp new grains are produced.
Under normal grinding conditions self sharpening occurs in use.
The grains that wear and become dull do not break away,
because the bond's strength to hold grains is too strong.
So the grains do not penetrate into the workpiece.
Solution
Select a softer bond that does not hold grains tightly to improve self sharpening.
